David Gornet is a dedicated community volunteer who has lived in Sugar Land since 1991, all within what is now Council District 2. David and his wife Terrie have been married for 35 years. They moved into New Territory in 1991, and then into Telfair in the spring of 1999. Their two grown children, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren also live in Fort Bend County. David and Terrie are active members of St. Laurence Church.
Being an engineer means solving problems, and that is what David knows how to do. A civil engineer with 38 years’ experience, David is currently working with Jacobs Engineering Group. Through his career, David has been involved in mainly transportation projects, large and small, that have helped to improve our mobility and safety. He has worked on projects that involved challenging problems, allowing him to improve his skills of working with the public to build consensus and support from groups with varied interests. David believes that working together is the best way to continue to address the issues that are important to Sugar Land.
During his 28 years in Sugar Land David community involvement has been continuous serving in both volunteer and elected positions.
